Brian Eckert- Trumpet
Brian Eckert is employed in the computer industry. A graduate of Moravian
College, Mr. Eckert is one of the premier trumpet soloists in the
Northeastern PA area. He is a former member of the Big Band Ambassadors,
and has been a featured performer at the Music in the chapel series at
Moravian. His other musical activities include performing in the pit orchestra
with the Zion Opera Workshop and Cantatas at his church.
Beth Perkins- Euphonium
Beth Perkins is currently one of the middle school band directors at
Lehighton Area Middle School. A graduate of West Chester University,
Mrs. Perkins' specialty is low brass with the euphonium being her
instrument of choice. The ensembles under her direction, at the Lehighton
Area Middle School, have received excellent and superior rating at
competitions throughout PA and NJ. Mrs. Perkins is also assistant
conductor for American Music Abroad's Burgundy Tour. She recently
toured Europe for 3 weeks with high school band, orchestra and chorus
students from Northeastern and Central PA.
David Matsinko- Trumpet
David Matsinko is currently a special education teacher in the Lehighton
Area Middle School. Matsinko, a graduate of Lock Haven University with a
BS in Elementary/Special Education, has been a member of Big Band
Ambassadors since 1979. He has also performed in the Zion Opera
Workshop pit orchestra, and is a member of the Lehighton Band. Other
musical projects include playing banjo, guitar, mountain dulcimer and fiddle
in the Old Time/Bluegrass Americana group "Mountain Grass".
Thomas Weidner- Trombone
Thomas Weidner holds degrees in music from Bucks County Community
College and West Chester University. He is a trombonist with the Allentown
based Royalaires Big Band and the Bethlehem based Dave Neith Orchestra.
Mr. Weidner is a co-founder of the Galena Brass and is a part-time member
of the Philadelphia German Brass Band. He also enjoys an active freelancing
career in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia regions.
